I have to say, the TV screen doesn’t really do it justice. The human eye can take in so much more than a camera and we don’t even really understand why. This is the sort of sport where your reputation precedes you. Although truthfully? There’s probably a fantastic story in every athlete. I met a girl once who planned an entire career as a coach and didn’t care what sport she was going to specialise in. I think she ended up in dressage. I heard the best riders get a properly telepathic bond with their horse and I like the idea of that, of being astride something so much more stable on the earth.
