After the Bomb
Indyana Horobin (Griffith University)
Before the bomb, we caught glimpses of each other in our windows, waving when the curtains opened, only a street apart. After the bomb, we hid in our apartments for weeks, eating canned food.
Before the bomb, I painted a picture of your dog, it looked like a lizard, when I held it up to the window you laughed. After the bomb, the picture died, paints melted down the canvas, your dog died too, you came over that night.
Before the bomb, I was alone. After the bomb, I had us.
