Wanderlust
Joshua Finzi (University of Canberra, Australia)
Your legs
break in the
ocean
so you become
seafoam and
whale-song
sometimes the magic
uncoils and unbalances
against the grain
of the sky
but you return again
to salt and sand
in the eyes of
a fish
you dream of
the lowest plate of bone
and rock and
whale-song
sometimes the magic
disperses in howls
against the spaces
between your control
but you breathe deep
in a cat-cow
the salt and the brine
mesmerise even constellations
so you break sea-drift
swimming like barramundi
through the ocean in
between the waves
