Hard Moon
Christopher Konrad (Edith Cowan University, Australia)
.

.

..Sands drift
and the wind has no idea where it blows
……grains shift ….lateral movement their only guide
great cities carved by insouciance and naiveté
……….O the grandeur of innocence
and auguries of unknowing
.
There is a hard moon in the velvet sky tonight
I see her expression in it
…………….and I remember her place in my cold nerves
…….that platinum disc shines over me
it highlights the weather of her face
………..the stone in the air where the dust has not settled
.
…….Mother, the winds are harsh today
…….my body lays itself down there
along the dunes
…….it rests with difficulty
….it is carved so none can find it
it is no more and lost in the desire to be
………..just one speck amongst the many
